What inspired you to take up the game?
Watching my country playing and the support I got from my family, friends and coaches really inspired me to love the game
When did you first represent your country at the international level?
In 2003 when I was selected to represent my country at Under 16 level in South Africa and Namibia.
How does it feel to be representing your country at such a young age in an international event?
It really feels like it's a big opportunity to show your talent to the world while you are still young, and make my country proud of whom we are.
What do you think will be the main challenges in taking part in a major international event?
Try and win every game.
What are your hopes for the ICC U/19 Cricket World Cup?
Play hard and exciting cricket and get to win games, qualify for the super six and through to the finals and finally to win the World Cup.
Who do you think will be the key teams to watch in the competition and why?
I think we are going to be a key team in the competition together with Pakistan because they have won the competition in consecutive competitions. India should also make a big impression as they also have been finalists for the past two events
Who will be the key players for your team?
Justin Gaisford, the wicket-keeper/batsman has been scoring runs and winning games for the team together with Solomon Mire as an all rounder.
How inspiring is to see that the likes of Brian Lara, Yuvraj Singh and Alistair Cook have played at this event and gone onto successful international careers?
It really inspired a lot because it's the first major event for the rest of the players and looking at the likes of Brian Lara and Yuvraj Singh who came through the same route, most of the players feel really motivated.
Do you have aspirations to have an international cricket career of your own?
Sure I do. It's been dream I have always been waiting for and I know that with God everything is possible.
